11 May 2008 - Record Score
Halifax Driect's new signing Faisal Mehmood has smashed the record individual B Division score when recording an unbeaten 196 away to Rodley 'B' yesterday. His mammoth effort when opening the batting saw the promotion hopefuls to a an impressive 315-2 in their 45 overs. The score beats the previous best of 168* scored by Gareth Duckworth of Pudsey St. Lawrence in 2006.

Will visiting teams please be aware that car parking at Highroyds is now on the new housing estate and not the School Grounds.
Enter by the Main entrance adjacent to the traffic lights and after 200yds turn left, Car Park is after the ground on the left hand side and is clearly visible.
On no account may players, officials or spectators use the School Grounds.

Thunder and Lightning
Umpires have been instructed that at the first sign of thunder and lightning they are to stop the match and lead the players from the pitch, regardless of the state of the game.
Player Registration Sheets
The following teams have yet to lodge their players with the Fixture Secretary and clubs are reminded that any club that fails to do so before play commences on Saturday 26 April will forfeit the match. Clubs with registration sheets still outstanding: Cookridge, Crompark, Hawksworth, Leeds Sikh & Pudsey Congs.
17 April 2008 - Weekend's Fixtures Postponed
Following the spate of bad weather that has left many clubs unable to prepare their pitches properly, the management committee have taken the decision to postpone all this weekend's scheduled fixtures. The matches will be played later in the season on a date to be confirmed.

The League are currently monitoring the bad weather that has left many clubs unable to properly prepare their pitches for this weekend's matches. The forecast is for more spells of 'light' rain and the committee will be inspecting a sample of grounds today. Should play be impossible on most grounds, the fixtures may be moved 'en-bloc' to Sunday, 17 August. A decision will be made tomorrow.

The Oakwood Old Gits Cricket Club have a tour planned for the Spring Bank Holiday weekend to play matches on the afternoons of Saturday 24th May and Sunday 25th May at two locations in The Netherlands and are looking for additional players, an umpire & a scorer. Clubs are reminded of the scheduled pre-season Umpires and Captains meeting at Pudsey St. Lawrence on Thursday, April 3 at 8.15pm. All captains or their deputies are expected to attend.
Clubmark Courses
The Airedale & Wharfedale Cricket Development Group are pleased to advise of two courses planned to support clubs seeking Clubmark accreditation, for those wanting to maintain accreditation and for those thinking about applying.
Club for All: Thursday 15th May, 6.15pm start.
Equity in Coaching: Thursday 22nd May, start time 6.15pm.
Each course will cost £25, but if fully booked the cost might reduce, and both will be held at Ben Rhydding CC.

28 March 2008 - Umpires Wanted
The Dales Council Umpires' Association are holding their pre-season meeting at Pudsey St Lawrence on Thursday, April 3 (7.30pm). Former players, or anyone who can spare a few hours on Saturdays, to umpire a match in the Bradford/Leeds area would be welcome to attend.

26 March 2008 -New League Secretary
Following the 2007 Annual General Meeting where Steve Raistrick replaced David Smith as Chairman and Steve Bradbury took over the Fixture Secretary role, a vacancy has been open for a Secretary. The League is delighted to announce that Bernard Greaves of Baildon has accepted the role. Bernard has prepared the handbook for 2008 and will take over all aspects of administration within the league. Bernard can be contacted by email at mailto:greavesbd@aol.com. For the moment mailto:secretary@dalescouncil.com will still reach the Fixture Secretary, Steve Bradbury.
Airedale & Wharfedale Cricket Development Group
Clubs are invited to the next meeting of the AWCDG at 7.30pm on Tuesday 1 April at Ilkley Cricket Club, where agenda items include Cricket Courses (Coaches, First Aid, etc.), Clubmark, Cricket Force, Women & Girls Cricket and Junior Issues. This group which is under the umbrella of the Leeds Area Cricket Council is open to all clubs within the Airedale & Wharfedale area and not just members of the League of the same name. Match Balls
Grade A match balls suitable for League & Cup matches are available to order at £10 each, with a choice from Readers 'Supermatch' or Woodford's 'Eclipse 1000'. Orders should be placed with Steve Raistrick on (0113) 257 9963. Balls will then need collecting from the suppliers D&R Sports in Bradford, with payment to the League.
