Kirkstall Educational
Kirkstall have resigned from the Dales Council Cricket League with immediate affect. All dues and expenses will be honoured but no more fixtures will be fulfilled.

At the Management Committee meeting tonight (7.45pm at Pudsey St. Lawrence) a decision will be made on how this will affect those matches already fulfilled and the clubs who have yet to play them. The proposal is that all Kirkstall's matches will stand up to the halfway point and matches in the second half to be forfeited. This will see Rodley lose 6 points but will allow all individual performances against Kirkstall to count towards the end of season averages. Confirmation on the decision will follow.

Recent Downtime
The League would like to apologise for the recent downtime that was experienced. The problem was with the Site Hosting company not renewing the domain name despite receiving payment. The site will be brought up to date quickly (A Division is already updated) with the other divisions to follow.

Cawthorne Cup Final
The final between Rodley and Shipley Providence due to be held on Sunday 16th July at Pudsey St. Lawrence (1.30pm start) has seen both allotted umpires stand down due to club connections. Bill Kelso and Colin White have been replaced with Peter Whiteley and Norman Cross.

World Cup: League Statement
After numerous queries and after the Management Committee's opinion was sought, the League would like to reiterate its position. The Dales Council Cricket League is a Saturday League and all games should be played on Saturdays except where rule 17c* applies. With this Sunday being the allotted day for both the Pool Paper Mills Cup and the Cawthorne Cup Semi-finals there is already a need for eight umpires, and teams will not be permitted to reschedule for the next day.

However as a compromise if clubs wish to start earlier in order to view the England v Portugal match, this will be allowed. Both clubs need to be in agreement and the club seeking the early start will need to contact Dennis Marsden, the Umpires Appointment Secretary to check on whether the allotted Umpires can accommodate the new start time. If both clubs and the Umpires agree, the match can be started early and at that stage, Steve Raistrick, the League's Fixture Secretary, should be informed.

*Rule 17c) If the ground of a senior league team is available on the Sunday following a scheduled Saturday fixture, the game may be played on the Sunday provided both teams are in agreement and at least 8 days notice (i.e. by the previous Saturday) is given to the Fixture Secretary. If the changed ground subsequently becomes unavailable then the fixture will revert to it's original Saturday date.
